YOUTH OF SYDNEY!!! GO TO SLEEP!!! I know you're online - all the youth leaders can see you!

 

Can't wait for 2morrow to hit! Only a few hours to go.... I can slip a few things that you might see tomorrow - but I won't spoil everything.

I hear that there is possibly a RICE CUP you can win for your youth group (if you win in the games)....

The ride that we're getting in is MASSIVE!

Steve Chong is gonna get DUNKED 2morrow!

There is a stage dedicated to GAMES and ONLY GAMES!!

And Nathan Sandon & Steve Chong are both PUMPED!! I was in contact with them in the past 24hrs - and they are FIRED UP to preach JESUS!!

Can't wait for you guys to come and see it in ACTION! It looks amazing at the moment - as the team came to setup the place on Friday. Only a couple of hours to go till you see it all happen at Sydney Showground!

10:38AM The team is ready to go. Jono (RICE Youth Brisbane Director) and Dora & Zee (RICErally Co-ordinators) are ready to go. All teams are ready to go... these guys are creative with their stages - picket fences, castles - "The Tale of Two Kingdoms"

11:20AM This "WHO AM I" skit rocks!!! It looks so go with Ultraviolet.... this RICE Brisbane Skit team is looking good.

1:00pm Eugene Hor & Sam Mak addressing the RICE Youth Brisbane Leaders Team and firing them up for tonight, but beyond. We believe in Brisbane and what God is doing through this movement. We want God to bring the 1.6 million people in Brisbane into His Kingdom. Pray for tonight!!

 

5:50pm We are 40min from the start of RICE Youth Brisbane RICErally!!! HERE WE GO!!! Leadership team is united and ready to go - singing this song "HOW GREAT IS OUT GOD"!!!

 7:18PM IT is WELL AND TRULY KICKED OFF!!!! We have over 254 people in this hall (and I think there are more!!) Kicked off with awesome Pre-Night games!! And awesome singing alongside the Brisbane crowd. MC Jono & Brian are doing an awesome job. Now Ben Tai is dressed up as King Karaticus!! Funny stuff!!!

9:20PM Eugene Hor is Master Chef with another youth who is cooking crazy stuff. And at the end, they both have to swap what they cooked and eat each other's food.... Euge looks like he's enjoying it. He is ready for his talk. Pray now guys!!

8:40PM Eugene Hor is preaching to over 350 people in this hall. Keep praying guys!

Awesome day seeing all 356 RICErevolution youth alongside the 100+ RICE Youth Sydney Leaders singing and united together for the sole purpose of seeing Sydney impacted by Jesus Christ!

Such an awesome day hearing a heart-felt talk by Eugene Hor which led us to write all things on a post-it note we wanted to surrender to God on a wall (where everyone had the chance to walk up and surrender their thing to God). This was an amazing moment for the youth at Revo.

We later heard from Dave Miers (www.davemiers.com) and Dan Au who gave us specific approaches to missional living.

As all this was going on, RICE Youth Leaders heard a talk on servanthood from Dave Miers (yes again!) and then seminars led by Jon Thorpe (Theology of Youth Ministry) and Millie Sharp (Child Protection). The youth leaders are SO Pumped as we planned and got together united in our teams, to serve the youth of this city.

We came back at the end of the day - youth leaders from Working Bee and youth from Revolution to sing one last song and prayer: "God of this City".

My prayer and vision is that God will use the youth at Revo and all that are coming to RICE Youth Sydney - for the youth to see their schools as their God-given mission field. You are the missionaries on the ground interacting with all your non-believing friends. And so as the next 4 weeks hit until RICEfever & RICErally - see everyday at your school as an oppurtunity as a missionary to engage, invite, converse and talk to them about RICE and let that lead to Jesus Christ.

YOUR AIM RICE YOUTH: Let us fill Downes Pavillion and Sydney Entertainment Centre with non-believers. We don't want to preach to a capacity of Christians. We want Jesus Christ to be preached and proclaimed to non-believers. Let's pack RICE Youth Sydney with not just 1... 2... friends from your school but each youth bring 10, 15, 20 of your non-believing friends.

So here it is - RICE Working Bee is ON this Saturday at Moore College. It's going to go alongside RICErevolution for the beginning of the morning (we'll sing with them and hear a bit from them) - but RICE Youth Sydney leaders will move off and get solid Scripture teaching from Dave Miers (check out www.davemiers.com) and a choice of 2 electives: Jon Thorpe (Theology of Youth Ministry) & Millie Sharp (Child Protection) [for those who haven't done Child Protection-you must do this first]

Every year, we know that once RICE Working Bee is over - it is GAME ON for RICE Youth Sydney's events in a couple of weeks. The pressure is on! And we feel the pressure!

Keep bringing your non-believing friends. Keep asking them. Bring over 5 of your non-Christian friends at school or wherever. Use RICE Youth Sydney as a platform for you to bring the gospel of Jesus to your friends. Sydney needs it!
